8 - F1 Fourier transform
After shearing 2D maps, we proceed the transformation of the echo and anti-echo files from time domain to frequency domain. In the following, we perform the F1 Fourier transform on the sheared echo and anti-echo files.
(1) We recall the three echo files by selecting the menu items:
Data/echo
(2) Since RMN(fat) can Fourier transform only rows of time-domain data, before the F1 Fourier transform, we must transpose the data of the three echo files by selecting the menu items:
Process/Transpose
Figure 1
Intensity plot of the transposed 2D echo map:
The horizontal axis is labeled in time unit.
The vertical axis is labeled in frequency unit.
(3) If necessary, we perform one or several zero filling operations on the three echo files by selecting the menu items:
Process/Zero Fill/Zero Fill
(4) We perform the F1 Fourier transform of echo files by selecting the menu items:
Process/Transform/Complex Fourier
Figure 2
Intensity plot of F1 Fourier transformed 2D echo spectrum:
Both axes are labeled in frequency units.
We repeat the above procedure with the anti-echo files.
Figure 3
Intensity plot of the transposed 2D anti-echo map:
The horizontal axis is labeled in time unit.
The vertical axis is labeled in frequency unit.
The number of zero filling operations should be identical to that performed on echo files.
